Virginie Marchand, Head of the EpiRNA-Seq Core Facility, participated in a speed-meeting with high school students to share her job as a research engineer of Université de Lorraine !
As part of the Déclics meetings and the "Critical Spirit" workshop, Virginie Marchand participated in a "speed-meeting" morning with young students from the Frédéric-Chopin and Jeanne d'Arc high schools in Nancy. In the company of Thierry Belmonte (Director of IJL), Laurent Falk (Research Director of the LRGP laboratory), Pascal Boulet (Research Director of the LEMTA laboratory) and Pierrick Gaudin (Lecturer and Researcher at LC2M laboratory), they each tried to make discover their profession as scientists in 10-15 minutes to small groups of high school students.
Virginie Marchand explained the different facets of her job and her daily life as a research engineer by popularizing her research and development activities, services, training and management of quality in front of very attentive young high school students.
"Research engineer? It's like being a pastry chef : I follow protocols as we follow a recipe."
