* Welcome B2S welcomes a trainee from Pro License IUT Nancy-Brabois

A student from the professional License “Bioindustries and Biotechnologies” majoring in “Recombinant Proteins”, Nina Touly, was recruited for 4 months (from February 4 to May 24, 2019) to work at the B2S platform as part of a project concerning the characterization of LSR as a new potential target, funded by “Lorraine Université d'Excellence Impact Biomolecules” (Investissements d’avenir – ANR  project number 15-004).

The lipoprotein receptor, the LSR (lipolysis stimulated lipoprotein receptor), identified and characterized by the QUALIVIE team of URAFPA, is a key player in peripheral and central lipid homeostasis. Studies in this laboratory have revealed a link between LSR, lipid-related disorders and pathologies including obesity, atherosclerosis, brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases, pointing towards LSR as a potential therapeutic target for these pathologies. The main objective of the project is to purify a soluble form of this receptor and to develop a Biacore screening methodology for the detection of potential ligands. This project is carried out in collaboration with the QUALIVIE teams of URAFPA (EA3998 USC INRA 0340 ENSAIA-LORRAINE INP Université de Lorraine) and EMS (Molecular and Structural Enzymology) of IMoPA (UMR7365 CNRS-Université de Lorraine).

Nina Touly will use the facilities of the B2S platform  to produce recombinant form of the LSR.
