MoFlo Astrios

Specifications

The MoFlo Astrios is an ultra-fast high-end sorter. It is equipped with 3 fiber LASERs (405, 488 and 640 nm) and spatially offset. Fluorescence emissions are collected by optical fibers placed at the outlet of pinhole. The Precision Optical Device optical bench configuration can measure up to 14 fluorescence parameters. With a "jet in air" design, the Astrios can reach a sorting speed of 70,000 events per second.

The performance of the system is remarkable in terms of the quality of output and purity, the speed of acquisition and sorting, as well as the capacity of the signal processing and storage. The signals are digitized at a frequency of 100 MHz on 32 bits (up to 100,000 events per second in analysis). In logarithmic mode, the dynamic range of measurement of signals extends over 5 decades (0.0001 to 10 volts). It is possible to simultaneously activate 6 sorting jets, ie to sort six populations, according to individually defined modes (single cell, purity, enrichment and mixed). Ultra-precise single-cell cloning (96-well conical bottom and microvolume) is done in vertical sorting. Sort index in X and Y. A set of nozzles of variable diameter (70 to 150 microns) makes it possible to adapt the sorting to the size of the events to be analyzed.

Sterile sorting can be accomplished in six ways (harvest in 5ml or eppendorf tubes) or on plate.

  • This equipment is not available for booking. Sorting is carried out only by the team.

    Any new collaborator must first contact the equipment manager using the request form to define the best strategy to adopt for conducting his study.
